Is specialized information that has the purpose to provide inputs to the process of decision-making related to the design and execution of the strategy, the politics and the actions in National Security issues.

The production of intelligence is oriented to know deeply all the aspects related to the phenomena that represent threats and risks to National Security, as their possible display, its probability of occurrence and impact, the variables which they consist of and the causal relationship between them.

One of the main features of the intelligence is the confidentiality, which allows avoiding the capability of the State to undertake measures in this regards, be neutralized. For this reason, the Federal Law of Transparency and Access to Public Government Information as well as the National Security Law, observe mechanisms to hold back information which could compromise National Security for a period of up to twelve years.
